What the scholars said about the Arabic language?

Ibn Taymiyah said: "It's known that learning Arabic and teaching it to others is one of the communal obligations, i.e., if some people fulfill it the rest are relieved of the obligation. He also said: “The Arabic Language is part of the Religion, and the knowledge of it is an obligation. The understanding of the Qur’an and the Sunnah is an obligation, and these two are not understood except with the understanding of the Arabic Language, and whatever obligation is not fulfilled except by certain means then those means themselves become obligatory (to fulfill the initial obligation) "

Imam Al-shafi'i said about innovation in religion: "People became ignorant and disputed because they left the language of the Arabs."

And Hasan Al-Basri said about the people of innovation: " The Foreigness ruined them".
